meet The Coveteur

Being part Canadian I am always so proud when a fellow Canadian becomes a recognized name.  Meet The Coveteur, an amazing brilliant website that takes you inside the closets of people you only once dreamed of.  Having only launched this Spring, Stephanie Mark and Erin Kleinberg have already been inside some of the most sought after closets like Khloe Kardashian, Jonathan Adler, Nicky Hilton, Emily Current, Hayley Viera Newton and Joanna Hillman (my first blog interview) just to name a few!

Usually websites focus on the style and fashion of those in front of the camera while The Coveteur focuses on people behind the camera. The Coveteur brings to life anyone and everyone you ever imagined of.  It's like being a kid in a candy store. . .

Stephanie and Erin took some time to answer a few of my questions. . .

nonjaded: How did you both meet?
TC: "We met at summer camp when we were 12 years old. Throw in a dual stint in NYC and the rest is history... "

nonjaded: How did the idea of The Coveteur come about?
TC: We are both obsessed with street style and thought why not take the voyeurs of the world one step further, allowing them to deconstruct the looks they see in the street by viewing their entire closet/wardrobe!

nonjaded: Who have you interviewed and featured on The Coveteur that has left the greatest impact on you both?
TC: It was a huge honor to work with Patricia Field, I mean she is so influential. We died for Nicole Richie's stylist, Simone Harouche. Her style is sick! Also, shooting Khloe Kardashians world of Louboutins was not too shabby either:)

nonjaded: Who has been the most inspirational person in your lives?
TC: Our moms. Both very inspirational ladies. They always support us and are a big reason why TC exists!

nonjaded: Which celebrity/fashion expert's closet would you most want to be in, photograph and interview for your website that you have not yet?
TC: Isabel Marant and Jerome Dreyfus. We would leave with new outfits and bags!!! Seriously tho- they are both so influential we would be so honored to work with them both. And Drake- if you know him, please give him a call on our behalf.

nonjaded: Name 5 things you can not live without?
TC:

1. repetto flats
2. Nars anything
3. Meredith Wendell tote bags
4. iphone
5. each other

Joanna Hillman

It is so weird when your oldest childhood friend becomes a publicly known name. Meet Joanna Hillman.  Jo and I go way back to toddlers in a bathtub, and now she is (well we both are) all grown up and on every blog and popping up in my monthly magazine reads.  Joanna is the hardest working girl I know and I could not be more proud of her!! Joanna started as an assistant stylist and has worked her way up through Teen Vogue to Harpers Bazaar as the Senior Fashion Market Editor.

Joanna took a few minutes to answer some of my questions for my first blog interview!

nonjaded: How did you get started in this business (i kinda know this :)?
JH: My mom was a model when she was in her teens and early 20’s and I begged her to do the same at a young age.  Although I was a terrible model, it opened my eyes to the behind the scenes world of fashion.

nonjaded: What are your favorite things about living and working in NYC?
JH: My favorite thing about NYC is also the thing that bugs me the most about the city-the non-stop pace!
There is no city like New York.  After living here for almost a decade, it is my home and can’t imagine living anywhere else.  The restaurants are reason alone.

nonjaded: What keeps you motivated when you have to commit to such long hours?
JH: I love what I do, it is a dream come true..but I also think taking vacation to clear your head is imperative to ensure you don’t burn-out.

nonjaded: Who has been your favorite person to work with thus far?
JH: It was an incredible experience to assist Lori Goldstein while shooting with Richard Avedon!

nonjaded: What is your proudest moment in fashion?
JH: Really proud of my Tommy Ton shoot out in Bazaar this month (August)!

Have a look at some of Joanna's amazing style...

Joanna and me back in the day :)
